She Hulk – a work in progress.

Long time Australian Games Workshop Store Manager, Andrew Long offered me this advice when I asked for some tips on shading; his pithy answer was always look at nature. So I did. He also said that when looking for what colours to paint your 40k figures that you should look at the uniforms of sporting teams as these have generally been designed by graphic designers to be marketable and to look great.

It was at this stage that I had a change of heart, on preparing to start the girder and base, I decided, that given the nature of destruction She Hulk was causing, it would be be in-congruent to paint her in a nice pristine state.

So I decided I will “dirty” her up with a brown wash and some dry brushing. This would provide a point of difference from other painters, and also fit in with the Post-apocalyptic look I was after!

I will show you the results in a few days.

  1. Don’t you hate how PC we have had to become! “It’s” a model NOT a her! No doubt if we called “it” a “her” we would be charged with applying a masculine stereotype to the feminine form!

Guru says’ ” Political Correctness is an oxymoron”.

  2. Looking good so far, the green looks great, like the idea of “grubby’ing” her/it up, as I’m sure you know the second you start knock anything down the dust gets everywhere!

    Cheers Roger.
