On Saturday we finally had most of our wargaming “band” back together in the one place (ours) at the same time. For how this went you will need to wait for another blog in the next few days.

We had decided to play a 1/72 scale “What a Tanker” from “Too Fat Lardies” as this would provide a couple of quick fun games for our first “big gig” in over twelve months. Steve suggested we try some of the larger late war tanks which I readily agreed to.

The trouble was, when on Thursday I began to organise the games for the Saturday, I realised I had plenty of Soviet “big boys toys” but only one German large tank. I quickly rummaged through the Aladdins cave that is the garage and found some old Airfix Tiger 1 tanks that I had collected over the years. Problem solved – well almost, as they were painted or not, in a variety of really bad colour schemes. So with a quick spray of Tamiya grey, a dark green, a bit of white, and a dark brown wash they were ready for mid-winter in Russia.

Unfortunately because they were quickly being rushed to the Eastern Front there are no decals.

I also re-painted some really badly put together and painted Hetzers, cause I could and they are a really cool looking tank!
