I just needed a break from painting zombies and have decided to get these finished.

“The Tallarn Desert Raiders is the name of the Militarum Regimentum of the Astra Militarum raised from the Desert World of Tallarn whose soldiers are highly skilled at desert and mobile armoured warfare. The Desert Raiders are mobile guerrilla fighters, evasive and opportunistic.

They are especially known for their lightning-quick Sentinel and hard-hitting tank squadrons and are masters of hit-and-run mobile warfare. They love to strike a killing blow at the heart of an enemy formation before returning to their own lines, prepared to pounce once more.” Fandom

“Tallarn 31st Rough Riders – The 31st Tallarn Rough Riders is one of three Tallarn regiments, along with the 11th Desert Raiders and the Tallarn 220th Armoured, sent to reinforce the Spinward Front of the Calixis Sector.

Due to the vagaries of the Warp, this regiment only recently arrived at that front after having been considered lost (code for just been painted after years in a box).” Fandom

More Tallarn will appear following the “Zomtober” and “Apocalypse Me” challenges!
Very cool! Those old Tallarn rough-riders are very rare these days, and they look great!
Yep I have had then for years.
I don’t recall seeing these figures before Dave! 🙂 They look really nice! 🙂
They were a standard box set when you could get them for tuppence halfpenny!
Those are superb Dave- the old school sculpts take me back to the glory days of 2nd ed.
Cheers,
Pete.
Arggh! Second Ed with its virus grenades still makes my Impy Guard shudder
In a universe of silly units, a cavalry unit with exploding lances is right up there. What a glorious thing the rough riders are!
Hi Ho!
Excellent work on the roughriders Dave, and a real blast from the past.
Glad to see you are old enough to remember, but not too old to have forgotten!
Those are really nice mate, I still prefer the older 40k sculpts to the new (plastic for everything) versions, they have more character in my opinion.
Cheers Roger.,
Yep! I have some of the original “Rough Riders” that I intend to use for Australian Light Horse when I get around to them.
