My hobby New Years resolution list for 2022 is:
- Finish my 28mm Modern asymmetric war games rules;
- Read at least 10 new Books;
- Do at least three projects that require more “green stuff” modelling;
- Sell/give away at least 10 lots of stuff that I am not using and will be unlikely to use;
- Play at least one game every two weeks (26 in total) and write a battle report on them;
- complete at least 20 projects on the list below, or substitute them for something else.

Some time ago I listed all of the figures that I was prepared to paint given enough time and I disposed of the rest. I put these into some priority order. High, Medium, and Low – surprise surprise. High were ones that I would play with NOW if painted and Low were unlikely to use but would like to have finished. I have always been a list/spreadsheet person as this helps me to prioritise and get thing done.

As interest waxes and wanes projects move from one category to another. The problem is sometimes the list gets a little long. Here is the High priority list at the moment:

The list looks daunting but many of these are small and some of the large ones are almost complete like the Wild West civilians and the Brunswick Napoleonic army.

Besides Guru says “lists are so you can be prospective not retrospective”!!!

Quite an impressive list, Dave! 🙂 I know what you mean about lists and spreadsheets! I’m not going with a formal list for the year yet beyond “Get out of bed in the morning” and I’ve had a 100% success rate with that so far!
It is only day 6! There is time yet!
Good luck with the list Dave, you have a lot of subjects in there to keep it interesting.
Yep that was deliberate. If I don’t I will get bored and do something else anyway.
There seems to have been a slight glitch in your software Dave. The 105th anniversary of Beersheba is looming in October & your 20mm Light Horse aren’t showing…
They are a medium priority. With us playing more Song of Ice and Fire, Lasalle, and King and Parliament these will continue to have a higher priority, and finishing off my Old school Necromunda and Eldar will also progress. Figures for niche periods, although nice to do, are not high on the agenda.
I saying all of this there are a couple of medium projects almost completed – Brigade of 28mm French Napoleonic Allies, and a Brigade of British Line. I hope these will appear with the Brunswick contingent in tomorrow’s Lasalle game! Unlikely, unless there are some significant rain breaks in the cricket!
4 Nil, 4 Nil 4 Nil 4 Nil…………..!!!
Hi John I refer you back to a post in March this year about being distracted by “bright shiny things”.
https://wordpress.com/post/phillipislandgamingsociety392176732.wordpress.com/11792
I listed a number of solutions. One is to phone a friend! You could be that friend!
Wow and I thought my list was long. Good luck mate
Guru says”Although the list is long there is only one that is important………the current one”.
The goal is to do twenty on the list or a substitute not on it. This I can do. Day six and I have completed and posted on two already – the giants and the scavvies! Tomorrow I hope to have completed the flocking on three more (only one on the list) due to a game planned for tomorrow afternoon and evening that has meant a quick fast track.
Yep well that list would last me till…..well I die basically 😉
Not well then?
Good luck with that list. I’ll be very interested to look at your rules when they are ready.
Cheers,
Pete.
We are changhing some of the basic concepts so a way of yet but will send them to you for a stranger test.
A man after my own heart and Excel worksheets. Good luck and let the journey begin!
Thanks Mark. without them I am just not orgsanised
