I just cannot believe that January 2022 is now gone forever! It seemed to go so fast.

Yeah Right!

I would like to think this is true but sometimes it just feels like you are way back in the rear of the cabin or just waiting in a huge queue to see if you can get a b@#$y ticket because of Covid-19!

The New Year started with a bang but I have still yet to get a chance to watch the BBC Dr Who special. Maybe soon.

I started the painting of my Free Folk army for Song of Ice and Fire with lots of good intentions but unfortunately these have petered off and I will need to get motivated again.

SWIMBO thought the figures were great and asked if they have Daenerys and her dragons. So AU$250.00 later I now have 22 cavalry, 3 infantry characters and 3 dragons to paint. Nice but certainly not in the plans.

She also wants some of the Hrakkars, or white lions, but I think these are now almost impossible to get. However, I will see what I can do.

Despite being slack with the Free Folk I have finished:

• 25 Scavvy models;
• 28mm Napoleonic Brunswick army (192 infantry, 24 cavalry, 4 guns, 2 limbers and assorted generals and baggage;
• A Brigade of Napoleonic British Infantry (Brigadier, 96 infantry, 2 guns and a limber);
• 23 Powhattan Indians and 2 Yeti;
• 35 Necromunda Goliath Gangers;
• 9 Oda Smaurai;
• The Curse of Dead Man’s Hand Ungodly Creatures – 23 bases;
• 72 Wild West civilians;
• 28 Nassau Infantry

In addition I have written up four battle reports, one Project Z figure review, three book reviews, and started my mouse/nursery rhyme village.

For the statistically minded:

January numbers are the second highest ever which is great considering the holiday season.

The January 11 post on “Craster” was by far the most popular.

January has eclipsed all of 2022 and points to an upward trend for 2022.

UK readers continue ti surpass the rest of the world combined. Thanks everyone for sharing the journey.
