Didn’t get any painting done today because I needed to finish off the second “half shed” to go down the side of the house which was really just wasted space.

The two sheds, ladders and tools in their place, and two waterproof storage cabinets make for a very good use of the space.

You can just see the cat netting which covers the whole back yard and keeps the cats in. The 4 story cat condo sits between the sheds.

I survived the ordeal and do not have to turn pirate on you, because although I have a few cuts from the tin there was nothing major to worry about!
Now for the nostalgia!
I was reading the “Live Free or Die” rules last night following our Friday night game. It was great to se a group of rules writers that include design notes. In those they mentioned that they were derived from the Andy Callan set of rules “Loose Files and American Scramble published in the first edition of Wargames Illustrated. I no longer keep wargaming magazines for very long but before I “ditched” them all I scanned the articles that I wanted to keep. Going back through my list I found Andy Callan’s set of rules
I just love this new trend of turning away from large complex sets of rules and returning to the “good old days” of simple rule sets.

Guru says “the only good thing about the good old days is that we were not “good” and we were not old”!
We are finding that what smaller sets of rules exclude does not detract from the gaming experience and in fact enhances it.
Any way I am buggered from 1:1 scale modelling and intend on having an early night.

Great use of the space down the side of the house Dave, if your happy with a set of rules that’s the main thing.
Very tidy mate. Haha I think two halves can make a whole but then again I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed.
Sledgehammers don’t need to be sharp!
Neat storage – you can get a lot of little soldiers in those sheds! 🙂 Have to agree with you on simpler rules – I’ve gradually pared down my WW2 rules to leave the bits I use, rather than the bits that I thought were a good idea at the time!
Sheds! Little soldiers? Wash your mouth out! SWMBO might see this and then where will I be! Probably with the cats!
They turned out well mate! I do like those shiny steel lockers opposite them! Oh and the cat city is very clever !!
Thanks. I picked up the lockers years ago and they are waterproof which makes them great for small stuff like screws, nails and small tins of paint etc.
Gotta have storage!
Agreed Mark
