I have more than enough mdf building to almost represent the entire city, however at this stage I just want to complete enough building to fill a 3feet by 3 feet table.
First I started as one always does at the aquarium and came up with this ancient gateway.

I also visited the cake decorating shop for some Roman type pillars for a modelling project down the track. More of this in another post.

Previously I had completed the Sarissa Precision (also sold by Footsore) Fountain set that contained a large fountain.

Also a small one.

Next I finished off two Sarissa Precision “Small semi detached houses/shops“.

Next will be a temple and then some single story factories.
Excellent scenery Dave, and good use of two resource points.
Yep over the years I have bought a lot of hobby stuff from aquariums and cake decorating shops!
I like it, there’s more details in those buildings than I imagined!
Just enough! If I want something more detailed I generally look at resin terrain.
That all looks fantastic so far! Good use of the old aquarium supplies once again as well. I haven’t seen an archway like that but it would definitely be in the haul if I ever do! 😆
Thanks Az. I am lucky we have a few pet shops around us so I am always on the lookout for “stuff”.
They look great repurposed to the wargames table. The MDF houses are nice too. Your little set-up brought to mind the last Harry Sidebottom book I read so I’d say you’ve got it right (I can recommend them if you’ve not read them).
Cheers,
Pete.
I have not read any of Sidebottom’s books but they look like a cracking read. Will get some with my next book allowance! Thanks for the heads up.
Nicely done, Dave! 🙂 Was only in the pet shop yesterday getting some bits and pieces for the dogs but also making sure I checked if there was anything I could use from the aquarium section!
A one for one deal? Dogs one me one?
Sadly no, the dogs always get way more than me! 🙂
Lovely stuff mate, I’ve use the old Wedding cake pillars in the past, have wondered about getting the plaster ones you see on line, and smashing them up to make ruins. The fountains are lovely, really nicely done, and the building are top notch too.
Cheers Roger.
Thanks Roger. I have been looking for a plaster mold of one for a while but have been unsuccessful to date.
Great mix of scenery and great repurposing of bits! This continues to be a really exciting project to follow. Great work!
