Note: Imperial Guard NOT that “new-fangled” Astra whatever it is!

“The Imperial Sentinel can be armed with a wide variety of weapons. The original Sentinel design called for a completely open canopy and an Assault Cannon as the walker’s standard armament, but eventually this design fell out of use in place of more common weaponry and an armoured or partially armoured canopy.“ 40k Fandom
Well they haven’t fallen out of use in my armies!

I have a squadron of the Rogue Trader walking eggs and two squadrons of the later bulkier Middle- Hammer versions all armed with Assault Cannon.

Two squadrons (six Sentinels) have been fixed to their bases and undercoated for years and I have finally felt like painting them.

Just a quick wash and dry brush, the metal bits picked out, and some detail added.

Foot showing rust look.

I will work on the second squadron and post it in a few days time.
Oooh, I haven’t seen this version before! 🙂 I like ’em!
I prefer them as they are nice and chunky and of a suitable size!
Great work on these classic models Dave, and GW only changed the name so they could copyright it ! LOL
Thanks Dave. They are still Impy Guard to me!
They look great, Dave! And they will always be the Imperial Guard to me too.
Thanks TOT
Those look pretty awesome and I like the colors. Looks to me like that should probably be a two man vehicle. Can’t imagine trying to pilot one of those and shooting at the time, haha!
This is GW. It work by magic!
Very nice- can’t beat the classic anti infantry load out.
Cheers,
Pete.
I think it is the models simplicity whivh mkles it great.
Ohhh cool classics! Love em
Ta IRO.
Those are super cool!
Excellent paint scheme, GP. I never liked the Eggs on Legs and thought that the armoured tea-trays on stilts didn’t look right in the green and red livery, but yours are credible. Good job!
Regards, Chris.
Sounds like Alice in 40k land!
Not familiar with these but the painting is superb
A early/mid 90’s version of the Imperial Guard sentinel (I think!).
