Yesterday I indicated that having a missile launcher in Tathruk’s close combay squad was a bit inappropriate so, whilst I have kept the launcher, he has been replaced.

I also indicated that I had some toy crocodiles that I was using as Quitana, a large prehistoric Australian mega fauna, for our Australian pre-invasion games.

I will look for some more to paint up like the Crocosaur, but in the meantime they will do.

when I do them up specifically for this army they will be used for a lesser Xenomorph and will be prodded along by a herder!

Now for the light troops:

These guys are great for seizing objectives and skirmishing but cannot stand up to a heavy or elite unit in close combat or a fire fight.

Tomorrow the second light unit.
Great work on all Dave, and good use of the plastic crocodiles, the Crocosaur looks a lot like the prehistoric Boar Croc which they discovered a few years back
Thanks Dave. I will look up the Boar Croc.
Really enjoying these. I just realized where those helmets are from, haha! I have a box of those lizards but totally forgot they have some with gas masks. The red and metal really threw me off! 😉
Glad I could help!
I like these figures! But it did occur to me that the guys with the helmets on will be great at spotting anyone either side of them but couldn’t see anyone standing straight in front of ’em!
You beat me to it John. Still, the rule of cool surely prevails here? 🙂
Regards, Chris.
They are not eye slots but 360 degree infra red readouts!
See … Rule of Cool in full swing! 🙂
Regards, Chris.
Ah yes, but there’s only so much incoherence that coolness can cover over, and we gamers often over estimate how cool our ideas actually are.
Guru’s first rule of cool – “Coolness is defined by whatever Guru thinks is cool!”. The second and last of Guru’s rules of coolness states “Whenever what is cool is in doubt refer to rule 1″.
Hope that clarifies things for you John and Chris. If not Guru’s only have a certain level of tolerance after which they lose their ‘cool”, but not their “coolness”.
Those are great.
Love the light troops.
Cheers,
Pete.
Thanks Pete these are also Wargames Atlantic figures.
Those gas masks are crazy, but I see the conversaiton around them has alreayd happened! 😀
Who said fantasy figures cannot be phantasmagorical!
