After about three weeks I have finally finished my “Season of Scenery” challenge. This consisted of three separate projects:
- The Sci-Fi stash from Azazel;
- Deadzone terrain pieces; and
- A small collection of six pieces of mdf terrain.

Given all three sections were completely different so i needed something that would tie it all together.

The Azazel pipe pieces were the inspiration to make it look like a grungy oil refinery set in the apocalyptic future.

With the overall theme in place I needed to connect the painting to unify the different pieces.

I went for a “glossy” oily look using a Cabot’s maple stain and varnish. This was thick and runny and gave the look I was after.

The purple and green buildings are from Deadzone.

The “rattle-can” silo from Knights of Dice.

An mdf landing pad from TTCombat

Fan outlets from TTCombat

A figure for size comparison.

The mat is an Infinity Nomad design, but I like how the red artwork ties it all in.

Back to painting some figures now!

Great looking scenery there! That’ll be a lot of fun to play on.
Thanks TOT, I am looking forward to getting it in action.
You’ve managed to tie together the 3 scenery sources really well, to create a cohesive looking board Dave
Thanks Dave, that was the impact I was after.
Well done Dave! 🙂 Looks impressive when it’s all set out!
Very nice
Thanks.
