Some cool stuff arrived today

A little while ago I sent Mark Morin some terrain that I no longer needed. Today I received a surprise box from him. As he knew that I loved books and rules he sent me my very own copy of Wars of Ozz and Wars of Orcs and Dwarves rule sets! Mark is provided a credit in the front-page of both rules as he had helped with play testing and some proofreading.

I like the look of these and realised that I have some Pumpkin Heads from Sally 4th. Although I am not interested in the Wars of Ozz myself, the figures are awesome for games like Dragon Rampant.

These have similar mechanics to the Wars of Ozz set. At first I was daunted by the size of both rulebooks but when you take out the background and army lists, both essential for the games narrative, the rules themselves are not that large and very easy to comprehend.

As Mark could see from my posts that I am getting into Xenos Rampant, he sent me his very own sculpt – a Mark 1 Sphere Tank! Apparently IRO already has one. The magazine (above and below) was the inspiration.

The model is awesome. Here it is based and undercoated, but there was one problem:

It arrived neatly packed in a specimen jar! Now being a good risk manager, on went the gloves and mask while I took it out, assembled it and quickly put some paint on as a precaution.

I then remembered Mark used them all the time, but the question is did he use them in more ways than one?

Photo from Mark’s website! JUST KIDDING!

The model is great fun and will be a prized possession when I paint it up.

I may have to wear safety boots when I play with it, as being a self cast model it is VERY heavy!

Thanks Mark a great surprise and not expected.
