Church of Dagon posse for Dracula’s America started.

I have finally made a start on painting my Church of Dagon posse for Dracula’s America, which means I am once again stepping carefully into the sort of religious establishment where the sermons are damp, the congregation looks suspiciously fishy, and the collection plate probably contains teeth. These figures have been lurking in the lead pile for far too long, whispering from the shelf and giving the other miniatures the wrong sort of ideas, so it was clearly time to drag them into the light, or at least into the unpleasant greenish glow that seems more appropriate for Innsmouth.

Step 1. Figures assembled and based

Step 2. Undercoated with Tamiya TS3

Step 3. Skin painted with Necrotic Flesh colour.

Step 4. Hair Colours painted. As I wanted them to be painted in basic earthy colours I also painted other parts of the models that could use the hair colour as well. Hair colours used were Army Painter Babe Blonde, Dirt Splatter, Matt Black, and Fur Brown. The grey was Vallejo Medium Sea Grey.

Step 5. Next I just wanted one posse signature colour to provide some cohesion and as a point of difference. I decided to use Warlord Games Royal Blue which provides some colour without going OTT.

From here I paint each figure individually picking out the fiddly bits, re- painting “over the line” mistakes and dry brushing and washing for highlights. More coming soon.
