What can I say…. I am surprised that this hasn’t become a cult movie….. well not really but the wife and I had huge belly laughs while watching this.
A classic western theme of Girl is betrothed to the villain, villain hassles hero, hero wins and gets the girl. Only this time throw in an Allosaurus and you have, surprise surprise, a plot twist.
From the video jacket: “The Beast of Hollow Mountain is a 1956 weird Wild West horror (a least for the time) movie about an American cowboy living in Mexico who discovers his missing cattle are being preyed upon by an Allosaurus who would later attack villagers, and be eventually destroyed by getting lured into quicksand (by the hero of course) and drowning”.

In addition to the actors walking around in “dinosaur boots” it also introduced a stop motion called replaced animation to bring the dinosaur to life. Crude by today standards but humorously effective.

Now those of you who regularly read the blog would know that our group plays “Dead Man’s Hand” a lot, but only a few of you would be aware that we have also dabbled in our own rules of “In Bellio Lacerta”, or fighting lizards.
I think I can see a synergy of rules coming to the fore!!!
