Hi guys I have been busy over the last few days so not much blogging. Just a few picks of progress on the German tanks and a quick question as I have to get ready for dinner (see previous blog).
German tanks almost completed.
I was a bit surprised how big the T35 tanks was when putting together. The scaling between the Maus and the T35 is a bit out with the Maus being 480mm longer, but both are still monsters in size. That is where the comparison ends which I will discuss in tomorrows blog.
With the last of my German tanks almost completed I realised that there were two other monsters that I didn’t have in the collection that I wanted, these being a Jagd Tiger and a Brummbar. I still have a few half tracks to do but these are not a priority.
Can any of you guys out there recommend a kit for either one – the simpler the better.
Nice work on the Maus, sorry cant help with the question though.

Compared to the Panther, the T-35 looks too big to me (despite what people may think I don’t memorise all of the tank statistics for models I have)! Having said that, it just makes it look more impressive! I cheated with a Brummbar and bought a diecast one and repainted it (Easy Models I think – you can see it at https://justneedsvarnish.wordpress.com/2018/07/17/bear-necessities/). Not sure about a Jagdtiger – the only one I’ve ever built was the Fujimi kit in the 70s! You may be able to pick up a diescast version of it though!
Dragon did a very nice Jagdtiger, in their diecast range, I’ve got one and can send a pic if it helps. it is out of production I think and can be expensive on the second hand market though I believe.
