I think it suits both the ash and fire wastes of Armageddon, but perhaps not for the equatorial jungle. The also fit with the hive cities of Tempestora, Death Mire and Volcanus on Armageddon Prime and Infernus, Hades, Acheron, Helsreach and Tartarus on Armageddon Secundus.
The real reason however is not this but the fact that it is just a black spray undercoat, dry brush grey, black wash, white dry brush and then picking out the metal bits etc., and they are done! Lazy, yes! Quick, you bet!

For fighting in the fire wastes I was thinking of red and orange but the black/grey was the easiest to paint.
Doesn’t matter what colour you paint them if they are fighting in the fire wastes – they will end up sooty grey anyway 😁
