November in Review

This one is a bit late, but for me is important as it helps me keep tabs on how my painting and posting is going.

Someone posted recently discussing if more regular posting increases readership. You can see from above that in March I started trying to post every day. Mainly because I personally find long posts hard to read, but also because I have been painting a lot in lock down and wanted to share this with the broader gaming community. You can see that with the exception of August when my 91 year old mother was extremely ill that views have gone through the roof and followers have increased 25%.

I think the most telling is that with only seven days into December I have already exceeded more views from when this version of the blog started in August 2020 until March when the number of posts increased.

The most important stats for the month are:

  • Figures painted 171;
  • Book reviews 2;
  • Battle Reports 3;
  • Posts 35.

Thanks everyone for your continued support.

  1. Interesting stats Dave, I couldn’t do a post a day myself, but applaud the fact that you’ve been pulling it off. I found when I was doing two posts a week, a lot of my followers didn’t comment on both, so tried to give people more of a chance to see each post, plus gave me more time to enjoy each model ! LOL

  2. Dave I think I’ve posted this before, but just as I batch paint I tend to batch post. So although the posts are scheduled for each day I have probably written 5 or 6 at once and just used the WordPress scheduler to spread them out.

  3. I have found it works perfectly, but originally I had trouble:

    1. Press publish button on top right;
    2. Where it says publish immediately press the drop down arrow;
    3. A calendar comes up so you can then put date and time in.
    4. Scroll back to the top and press publish.

    The mistake I was originally making was just pressing the publish immediately without clicking on the drop down arrow.

    Hope this helps.
