Both of these arrived in the mail today.
After reading Grumpy Gnomes post I tried to get as secondhand copy of these rules and Quarantine 37 companion, but ended up having to buy new copies.

Like Grumpy I was a bit underwhelmed by it. Similar to Frostgrave, which the mechanics are based on, it is a glossy production with lots of great pics.
The rule mechanics centre on the Ship’s Captain and First Mate both of who have a separate activation phases where they can move themselves and up to three other figures within three inches. The importance of where each are placed becomes very important as their activation phases are before all others.
All figures receive two actions which does not really cater for different levels of skill and training.

There are some interesting scenarios and mini-campaigns which you can modify to suit your own needs. With Quarantine 37 I liked the Bestiary and technology sections which were great for ideas – the “bugs” in particular.
The solo rules in Chapter 5 were a big disappointment with virtually no changes of note.
On the level of “pain” scale I give it a whopping eight out of ten!

I picked up a few things but overall not worth the investment. Grumpy I should have taken your advice!
I just picked up both of these (they were on sale on Amazon) – they arrived earlier this week but I haven’t had a chance to even open them yet. If they can get me some tabletop gaming, I’ll still be willing to call them a win! 😉
I would to!
