This group of disparate, eclectic and totally weird group of people never cease to amaze me. Once the outcome of my “caption competition” was announced and the winners named, three of them. totally independent of each other, indicated that because John from Just Needs Varnish fame was interested in early war 20mm tanks that I should give theirs to him. Not one BUT ALL THREE!

John indicated to me privately that he never wins anything and was really chuffed to be receiving a single 20mm tank. Well John, thanks to Mark, Roger and Eric you now have a whole troop of them.
Well Done Guys!

The down side John, is that we want to see them on the table by the end of August (just kidding)!!!

Very cool, guys!
Agreed!
Well, that has taken me completely by surprise! 🙂 I really do appreciate everyone’s generosity – Dave for running the competition and Eric, Mark and Roger for donating their prizes to me! 🙂 I’m now going to have to get moving on plans for painting them (and am waiting for Dave Stone to chip in and say tanks count towards the Season of Scenery challenge)! Fortunately, or maybe unfortunately, H-35/38/39s come in a wide variety of camouflage schemes so I’m spoilt for choice! I already have two resin H-35s so these extras will probably give my early war French the largest tanks force of any of my armies! Once again, thanks guys! 🙂
Happy to have helped! Can wait to see what you do this these tanks!
I have no idea how I’m going to paint these Eric! 🙂 If I’d won one it was going to be in plain olive green to match two of my R-35s, so I hadn’t thought beyond that! I do, however, have plenty of colour plates showing H-38s so I’ll have to get some research done! 🙂
It was an easy decision John, very happy that you will have a troop of Hotchkiss tanks. Looking forward to seeing them painted and in a game with you on a winning side!
Since I’ve already got two H-35s I’ll have well more than a troop! 🙂 Despite their sometimes garish camouflage schemes I think winning a game with them is going to be easier than painting them!
Lots of choices is a good thing
You are very welcome. Will send them next week!
Congratulations John and what generous people too. Big up for David for running the competition.
Thanks Steve! 🙂 Thoroughly decent peeps!
A mighty fine group of people indeed, and your not wrong John ! LOL
Tanks count? Awesome!
They are indeed, Dave! 🙂 Since I tend to do tanks quite a bit I’m not intending doing any of them for the Season of Scenery challenge, since I have more than enough other stuff for that!
Thanks David, for the competition and the opportunity for everyone to show how great this group of gamers/geeks/blogger really are!
Thanks Eric my pleasure. We should all get behind Dave Stone’s “Season of Scenery” challenge:

Well it seemed sensible to be, you are the tank genius after all 😁.
And it seems great minds think alike!
Cheers Roger.
Good on them.
Cheers,
Pete.
Thanks again Dave and very kind of you to both run the challenge and to post this.
My pleasure Mark.
