Second Section of Jungle Division Infantry

How is everyone this fine New Years Day morning! me thinks I hear moaning, groaning and snoring because of the celebrations into the wee small hours of the morning. As you read this I am still snug in my bed smug with the thought that this post notification has beeped on your mobile as you throw it across the floor!

Well happy New Year despite the headache! Remember a hangover is only a problem if you decide to stop drinking!

Anyway enough of the preamble which was designed to just wake you out of your slumber for the important stuff! The fourth section of infantry for this platoon is now finished.

The post today is on an other completed Jungle Division section of infantry.

This is a standard Jungle Division composition of NCO with SMG, 3 Infantry with SMG, 1 with a Bren gun and 5 infantry with .303 rifles, one acting as the Bren gun loader.

A Jungle Division infantry section alight from their billet as the alarm sounds.

Note the completed basing on the Jungle hut. For more information see the Pacific Village post.

Soldier on watch as others checkout the rest of the village.

Bren gunner.

NCO on the radio

SMG gunners

Riflemen

The section on their movement tray, or rather I should say “Shelf storage tray”. The tray helps move miniatures quickly from shelf to table with minimal dropping of figures (it is not Guru proof!).

Another section up next – only two more to go (20 figures) and the project is finished.

    • Thanks John. Given the size and structure of the villages I cannot remember any figuring in any major battles but I will have a look to see. Whilst Buna/Gona etc were village locations it was the location rather than the villages that were fought over.
