Finally succumbed to the “Dark Side”!

I was shopping today with my eldest son to spend my last piece of “Birthday Loot” – a voucher from Uber Geek Wayne – and was convinced to purchase the Crisis Protocol introductory set.

I had that feeling, you know the one, when you think you have done something wrong but are not sure what!

Reminds me of a repartee with fellow blogger Argentbadger:

Great post. looks like some great games. This has been one game system that I have been trying to stay away from……..so far! I must be strong…. I must be strong!

Thank you! Stop the resistance and give in! The game is really good on so many levels. It can be played very casually, just putting your favourite heroes on the board and having them throw terrain at each other. Alternatively it can be played very competitively with a wide range of team compositions able to perform well at the highest level. It’s so much fun!

Although I would always encourage people to support the companies that make these games, I will also note that once you have the core box (which is needed for the measurement tools) anything after that can be acquired through cool 3D prints or the apps which have the character rules.

Thanks Darth, but that doesn’t help much coming from you!

  1. Oh! Definmitely good to see. With a little bit of imagination (ok, just some rebasing – or just temporaty rebasing with blu-tac) many, many of those heroes you have coming in from the Marvel Zombies KS can also be used in MCP if you have access to their individual rules – presumably through Apps as AB said – or whatever other means!

  2. If I didn’t have so many other all consuming projects, I would have been very tempted by this game, but thankfully the force is strong in this one ! LOL

  3. You are wise to be careful haha, crisis protocol has absolutely taken over at my local club. It’s a fun and relatively lightweight game apparently. It holds little appeal to me since I’m not a fan of superheroes but even then when I tried a demo and played Cap it was an absolute blast.
