In Australia when we are talking about a “VB Launcher” we are probably referring to an inebriated sports fan tossing his “empty” onto the field of play. Kiddies you should not do this because your father is likely to be in deep “do do” for allowing you to both drink and throwing the cans. I know this is extremely unlikely because what person in their right mind would waste their precious VB on their kids!

The term VB got its name from the French inventors; Messrs. Vivien and Bessières, who designed a system that could launch a grenade from a cup discharger using live ammunition, while arming the grenade at the same time it was fired.

Next up for the Greeks will be some mountain artillery support and some mules to drag them up the mountains!

  1. Nice looking soldiers! So the grenade launcher armed a grenade before launching it? I just had the scary thought of dropping a regular grenade into a contraption that arms it and forgets to launch it! 😜
