On Monday we went Thrift shop scrounging. me to see what books I might find and Maree was after “Barbie Dolls” so that her craft group could make clothes for them for little girls Christmas presents. We found 7 in good condition and a “mock off” Barbie car as well.
Life in plastic maybe fantastic but I prefer metal figures myself!

The next day I went to a local “Salvos” and picked this up.

The boat just required some repairs to the rigging and a damn good dusting and it will look like new. Picking it up for AU$20.00 was a real bonus. I’m thinking it will look great on my boat bar when I eventually get it set up in the new house.

It is a great model that someone has put endless hours into putting together.

The books are always a bit more expensive at the “Salvos” but at AU$4.00 each I was prepared to pay for them. With my “Carers” card for Maree I also received 20% off al three items!

Maybe some green thingies tomorrow.
A good haul all round, Dave! 🙂 That ship’s very nice!
Thanks John. I was pleased with the purchase. It will be a nightmare to repair the rigging but will be well worth the effort.
the Chester Wilmott one is a classic
Yeah it sure is, I was pleased to pick that one up!
Great finds there- went round the charity shops in town today but the pickings were slim.
Cheers,
Pete.
I often come back with nothing, but the search is half the fun.
