The Greek army used the Brandt mle 27/31 mortar which was a regulation weapon of the French army during the Second World War.

Designed by Edgar Brandt, it was a refinement of the Stokes mortar.

The Brandt mortar was highly influential, being licensed built or copied by numerous countries, including Greece.

Hopefully something bigger tomorrow.
Great work on this, and great scenery to go along with the photo shoot!
Thanks mate.
Great unit Dave, and the scenery you’ve photographed it with is very thematic.
Thanks Dave the scenery was of course deliberate.
Very nice- I contend it is one of the most important weapons of the war.
Cheers,
Pete.
