No painting today as I went to my local Thrift Shop haunts and picked up a few books.

Six books covering a variety of 20th century conflicts.

“Knights of the Air” is about WW1 air battles and aces. It is lavishly illustrated, and one I think I will cherish.

“Reach for the sky” – I have never read this classic about Douglas Bader.

Another great pick up about the daring St Nazairre raid.

Not sure about this one but for AU$2.00 well worth the try.

A great story about a modern hero.

This is one that was missing from my collection. The story of two Battalions that escaped Singapore, and continued to fight in the Dutch East Indies against an overwhelming enemy until ordered by the Dutch to surrender. There fate was for hundred to die on the Thai-Burma railway and in the coal mines of Taiwan and Japan. I think this one will be read first!
