Landing Vehicle Tank (LVT -4) (3)

This is the third and last of my LVT-4’s for the Australian Jungle Division.

This is meant to represent an old “rust bucket” towards the end of the war at the Borneo landings.

Heavily rusted where the salt water will collect. The effect was gained by using AK Crusted Rust Deposits Heavy (brownish) and Medium (orange) weathering paints, washed with GW Seraphim Sepia.

Tomorrow some anti-armour support for the platoon.

    • I have just used “AK Crusted Rust Deposits” paint that comes with three levels of rust – light, medium, and dark. They work well but definitely need a a final lacquer as they can rub off. This is also and advantage as you can rub of any excess when the dry. I obtained my from Metro Hobbies in Station street Box Hill.

      • Thanks for the info, Metro has certainly expanded over the years, I do try and pop in there if I’m down in Melbourne , I may just order some now , cheers mate 👍🏻
