Toxic fatties are fun from a game perspective – When you hit Toxic Zombies, they release some kind of toxic stuff. It’s in their blood, and it sticks around. Simple exposure irritates skin. Breathing or swallowing it can be lethal. Watch out for your eyes, too.
Toxic Zombies is also a 1980’s horror movie. After drug crops are sprayed with a chemical by a passing airplane, the growers of the crop are poisoned by the chemical and turn into zombie-like mutants.

Freder is an agent who leads from the frontlines. A fearsome combatant, he is able to rally those under his command, giving them courage and resilience to face the horrors before them. Heroes sharing a Space with Freder are able to cancel corruption they would otherwise have gained in the course of a fight against the forces of Sin!

The figures are great and although I have never played the game the characteristics each has can be incorporated into any games system to add that little bit of flavour.
I did not even know about “The Others: 7 Sins” Kickstarter, but found this expansion box when I was Googling for some zombie policemen, The heroes and the firemen included in the expansion were just an added bonus.
First from Pendraken a whole lot of assorted bases I needed for some outstanding projects.
Secondly some gaming pieces for a terrain idea that I have had for a long time and intend to include as part of my “Infinity” terrain project, but it’s a secret!
The next is the last of my “Modern” figure purchases. These are from Empress Miniatures and will be used for the final group of 13 mercenaries.
The final lot is the Baron’s War Kickstarter from Footsore miniatures. I only chose the figures I was interested in as I had enough standard Medieval knights and foot, the rules and some of the figures were part of the Kickstarter and provided as “stretch” goals. The figures worked out at abound 1 pound Stirling each which is not bad these days for Footsore quality figures.
The Campaign book looks interesting.

This was not a fun read but it was an excellent one, mainly because it deals with a very real but not often understood of working/fighting in a combat zone.

Returning home from the conflict Loyd felt a void that could not be filled. It is a void that many soldiers returning to civilian life struggle with. No longer are ex-soldiers in a fight or flight situation and many of them find mundane employment and even friends and family just not satisfying. This often leads to depression, family violence and in Loyd’s case drug addiction.
Why? Put bluntly they are no longer in an adrenaline charged environment and are just not receiving the “rush” that the battlefield provides. It is not just a case of PTSD, although they often go hand in hand, but that they struggle to find fulfillment in their new life.
Loyd leads us through his personal journey and the seductive power that experiencing war provides.

The Firemen will appear tomorrow and some Eureka Jazz Dancer and Musicians (why do we collect such stuff?), Zorro figures, Test of Honour Masked Men, Tallarn Desert Raiders and Valhallan Guard just require some finishing touches and their scenic bases completed.
I am in the middle of packing up our holiday home as the property settles in about a months time so I guess if I get any of this done it will be a bonus!
This TTCombat Highway is the last major piece for my “Gotham City” that I have decided to complete for Dave Stones “Apocalypse Me” October challenge. My fellow P.I.G.S. are well aware that this has been “on the go” for over twelve months, so it is good to have an incentive to complete it. There will still be things like a car park, and railway carriages and the like, but this is the last major individual piece I need to do.

As I said before the highway has been on the back burner for a long time with just the individual pieces glued together. I would just do a few minutes here and a few minutes there so I do not have a detailed photographic history of the project.

After finishing the individual pieces I quickly realised they they would not work on a games table without major support so I decided to glue all the pieces together and then to glue them on a base. This has made them “wargaming friendly” (Code for Geoff proof)!

After gluing together, the the individual pieces were spray canned with a grey primer and then dry brushed with a commercial water based grey house paint. They were then glued together and mounted on a piece of wood particle board. I would normally have used mdf but this was all I had available.
The two story carpark that is another project.
The roads were then painted with wood glue and then covered with a layer of very fine sand. I used this technique for the asphalt roads on the other Gotham city bases and this worked out well. Sheets of sand paper is other another alternative, but more expensive. Sand is free when you live on an island!
When this had dried I shaked of the excess sand, and sprayed the sand with a very cheap matt varnish spray can to “fix” the sand.
The next process was to paint the “asphalt” a matt black. Again I used the same cheap matt black blackboard paint that I had used for the other roads.
The same process was then completed with the base underneath the raised highway as I planned to use this as the “homeless village” with shanty houses, tents and sleeping bags, underneath, but this is another project!
I painted the gaps in between the sand covering with a metal primer flat grey to give a more derelict look.
I am now coming to the stage where I have to actually start painting the project, rather than just spraying and splashing on paint with a 50mm brush willy-nilly (a quaint saying from the Old English word “nyllan” combining the word for no and the word will – another course at University that I have had very little use for!).

With She-Hulk completed yesterday this is my second item for Dave Stone’s “Apocalypse Me” challenge! I will work on some zombies and the zombie hulk over the next week.
Well this one is finally finished, I now have the “grotty” version of Jennifer Walters finished. While not your standard interpretation of the figure I am happy with the overall effect,
To quote Kenneth Williams’ great pun in that classic piece of source material “Carry on Cleo” this describes my initial thoughts on this saga:
“Infamy, infamy, they’ve all got it in-for-me”
But that has all changed!
A full refund has been made;

The new Hulk is now here;

Here begins Guru’s lesson – “deal with people you know and trust and you won’t be disappointed” .
The new Hulk has arrived from Dave’s Games with a minimum of fuss and time. My faith is now restored!
I just have to work out how I am going to convert/paint the first one without the back of his head into a “zombie Hulk” for Dave Stone’s “Apocalypse Me” challenge!
This is not a silly as it sounds because in an alternate reality known as Earth-2149 all super-powered beings became infected by an extraterrestrial virus which transformed them into Zombies.
Unlike most incarnations of the Incredible Hulk, who are mostly aggressive, but good in nature, this zombified version of the green giant is even more of a rampaging beast who becomes eager to eat human flesh.
I can see a “good” Hulk versus the zombified Hulk scenario coming on!
This vignette is the Empress Miniatures Sniper and Spotter.
The primary weapon of the British military sniper is the L115A3 Long Range Rifle. This is a bolt-action weapon, chambered in 338 Lapua Magnum (8.59mm), with an effective range out to 1.2 km. … This can be augmented with a Sniper Thermal Imaging Capability (STIC) night scope for low light level shooting.
From a gaming perspective most “good” rules should enable the use of a sniper to not only target an individual but should also assist with the Positive Identification (P.I.D.) of Tangos from civilians.
